Our Vision and Mission
Our Vision is to tap into the unrealized potential of the many students who really are scientists and engineers at heart, and also those who were told that they are not.
Our Mission is twofold. First we provide unique hands-on project-based experiences, both inside and outside of classroom, where students solve real-world problems and rediscover their passion for science and engineering. Second by providing financial scholarships for the next generation of Elementary School Teachers who are capable to teach science and engineering.
Why “Main Engine Start”?
For lack of exposure and tangible experience with science and engineering, and societal messages that science and engineering is “too hard”, many young students miss their calling to these fields. As a result, the world misses out on the contributions and impact they could make through these fields. We’re here to give every young learner the opportunity to connect with their calling as scientists and engineers.
We chose the name “Main Engine Start” because it is the last of the commands given during the countdown for a rocket launch. The “Main Engine” is ignited, with all its energy potential, and the launch committed - analogous to our effort to ignite at student’s potential and passion for science and engineering!!
