Generative. Collaborative. Productive.

Many individuals and organizations work together to help launch new scientists and engineers into impactful professions.

Peter is the visionary and driving force behind Main Engine Start. Prior to Main Engine Start, Peter was an Associate Professor of Engineering and Physics at Raritan Valley Community College for seven years and earlier enjoyed a twenty-three-year career in the Fiber Optics industry, living and working in seven countries.

His motivation is based on his many experiences that “hands-on” and “project-based” learning positively transforms lives - in both Industry and school - because it taps into all aspects of a person’s capabilities, in addition to academic knowledge. In short - “hands-on” - Works!

He earned a B.S. in Chemistry and M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
